In the blistering Texas heat
A lot of startups have a charming story about their origins - a few guys tinkering around in a garage, a few friends working vigilantly in a dorm room, tales you really enjoy hearing and really put into perspective how much passion goes into these companies' products.
Our story starts with a Computer Science student waiting in line at a burrito shop in Frisco, Texas. Seeinga young lady struggle with a hand written order list, our friend the CS student asked "you know, what if...".
Now Food For Group is a full featured platform of services for resturants and small businesses as well as consumers (which you can read more about here).
and yes, our friend the CS major is still around. And he couldn't be happier with what came of that one little "what if".
We love telling the burrito shop story because it speaks to our focus here at Mechanyx. We create things which solve observable problems - and we always try to do this in such a way that is enjoyable for those who use our creations.

Food For Group
Bringing your food runs into the 21st century
This is great news if your a major franchise or brand with millions of dollars to commision an app developer to build you a custom ordering app.
But what about those resturants that are a little smaller. You know, the local shops where THE BEST FOOD EVER is? What about those guys?
Enter Food For Group - a digital food platform where resturant orders can connect with customers, manage their digitial food pressence, and have a fighting chance to get their delicious dishes to customers like the bigger guys do.
Food For Group is not just for businesses though. Food For Group allows everyone to get social with their eating. Doing a coffee run for the office? Getting snacks for game night? Set up an order list in seconds, have everyone send their order to that order list, and you are able to order everything however you choose - without having to decipher handwriting hieroglyphics, dig through your texts or emails, or run around to everyone and ask "what do you want"?
While we love a good bit of running and staying in shape, we think running around getting orders is a tad excessive. So Food For Group is the answer to that and a whole lot of other old problems surrounding ordering food for groups.
Bottom line: FFG is here to bring your resturant, small business, food run, and other food-related shenanigans into the 21st century.

Where we're headed...
When you break it down, shooting for the stars is in our name
A lot of people ask us about our name - Mechanyx is a play on the word "mechanics" but with a fun twist at the end. Nyx is the Greek godess of the night - where the stars are! A fun change of the end of a word to describe the inner working of a complex system and we had our name!
The stars to us are an amazing embodiment of the curiosity that litterally surrounds us every day. That on any given night (assuming there's no clouds) you can look up, start to think, and let your mind create amazing things.
Keeping with the stars anaology, we all sit under the same atmosphere on the same little blue dot floating in space. To that end when we look up we observe the same sky that those around the world see and those who came before us (and after us) look at.
Those two things in mind, we'll leave you with this - in all that we do here at Mechanyx we ask ourselves two things: does what we're doing connect and help those around us, and are we going to do it with a sense of curiosity and passion? If not, then we keep looking until we find something that we can check both boxes on.
